Cutting New Hope

Witty and cool,
And witty and pentrating,
The Gate opened
On Sunday.

Morning breaks
Torpedo head
In the month
Of the big run.
A blockade on York Ave.

Banners crumble
Blue-colored skies
T-shirts white as
If were bitten.
Hard to catch
A bagel.

One paper cup,
Floral in design,
Sits in the cupboard,
Short stack there
To the Checkout.

Cake with everything
But a knife
That doesn't listen
To reason
Beside a personal angry
Faucet dripping.

It was good,
I want to hear
a compliment
From the Russian.
For she doodles
On a pink-slip
At the bleeping telephone.
